Brace yourself for a winning smile at Orthodontics by Dr. Burson. Dr. Stacee Burson is the only female orthodontist in the area, and she has been serving families for over 25 years. When patients first visit us for their free initial exam, they are impressed with our laidback office atmosphere, our games for kids, and our complimentary cookies, coffee, and water. Our goal is to help everyone who visits us feel comfortable, like they are a member of the family. Our confident, friendly, experienced team wants to make sure our patients have great experiences as we straighten their teeth. We offer orthodontics in Texarkana, Texas, as well as Magnolia and De Queen, Arkansas. Your entire family can receive excellent smiles when you visit one of our office locations for orthodontic care.
Stacee Burson, DMD, MS
2016 is a special year for me because I am celebrating 25 years of straightening smiles! Since my kids are grown, all my energy and effort is poured into my work. Touching the lives of so many people every day and having a positive impact on them is very rewarding. I truly love my job and my patients, and I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do. Orthodontics is my life.
To treat patients with so many unique personalities can occasionally be challenging. This teaches me patience and reminds me to be a good listener and communicator. I thrive on the relationships I build with those I serve. Each patient comes to me with their own story, and I am a part of that as I watch them grow and mature, seeing their personalities blossom as their healthy, new smile develops.
I had braces when I was a junior in high school, and didn’t get them off until I was a sophomore in college. I was missing five permanent teeth and had huge spaces. I was so self-conscious of my appearance that I wouldn’t smile unless I covered my mouth with my hand! Seeing how orthodontics changed my life, increased my self-esteem and confidence, and gave me the ability to smile naturally was a turning point in my life. I always knew I wanted to go into the medical field, and orthodontics was my calling. I wanted to do for others what had been done for me. And so I put myself through school, becoming the first female orthodontist to practice in the state of Arkansas!

My daughter, Haley, graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2015 and is now completing a residency program at Lee Specialty Clinic, working with special needs patients. My son, Jake, is working as an Industrial Instrumentation Technician and Master Welder with H & K here in Texarkana.I also have three step-children. Cole is a recently discharged Navy Veteran who attends the University of Arkansas, pursuing a Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. Sarah is in graduate school at the University of Arkansas pursuing a Master degree in mental health counseling and recently married Wes Clawson. Sean is working at Smith Blair as a mechanical engineer. My family is rounded out by two dogs, Bizzee and Chloe, and seven granddogs. I enjoy spending the day at Lake Texoma, hanging out with friends on the dock, and playing golf.
Commitment to the Community
I’m a mentor for local high school students who are interested in going into the dental field. I have them come do a job shadow day at the office, and I was recently approached by Oklahoma State University to offer the same opportunity to their pre-dental students. I provide free dental care to underserved patients through the Texas Mission of Mercy program. For more than 20 years, our office has sponsored local baseball and softball teams, and I sponsor needy families at the holidays and regularly donate dog and cat food as well as cat litter to our local animal shelter. I also donate clothes to the Battered Women’s Shelter.
Dee—Orthodontic Assistant & Texas Registered Dental Assistant
I love seeing the beautiful smiles we’ve created for our patients after treatment is completed. When the braces come off and a patient sees their new smile for the first time, we are all cheering for them. We know we’ve made a real and positive change in their life, and that they will be able to move through the world feeling confident about their appearance.I assist Dr. Stacee Burson chairside during procedures. I prepare for the placement of the braces, change archwires, and show patients how to wear their elastics. I also teach patients how to properly brush their teeth once the braces have been placed in order to keep their teeth clean and healthy. I also make the in-office Essix retainers and order all clinical supplies for the practice. Outside of the office, you’ll often find me spending time with my three children.
I love the excitement that our patients express, and their energy is contagious. They come into the office eager to tell us about their latest adventures and accomplishments in school or in sports, and hearing their anecdotes is delightful. I follow the patients through their treatment and seeing the finished product, with their marvelous new smiles, is amazing. My work involves setting-up patient contracts and filing insurance claims. I help each family find a budget that works for them, so the patient can get the orthodontic care they need, when they need it. I also greet patients when they arrive, cover our reception desk, and handle scheduling, too. Away from work, I enjoy the outdoors, whether it's fishing, working in the yard, or playing with my dogs, Faye and Cash. I also try to spend as much time as I can with friends and family.
Laura—New Patient & Treatment Coordinator, Orthodontic Assistant, & Texas Registered Dental Assistant
I love the relationships we build at Orthodontics by Dr. Burson! Our patients and their families are amazing, and our team is second to none! From the moment a new patient arrives, I guide them through our process: A tour of our fabulous office complete with an introduction of the "Burson Dream Team", I then review initial paperwork, complete an exam with Dr. Burson, and follow the visit up with a customized treatment recommendation and payment options. I also handle our public relations, our practice marketing, and I am cross-trained as a Registered Orthodontic Assistant. I love what I do and I know that you won't get better care anywhere else! My personal life revolves around GOD and family. I have been married to my best friend, Scotty, for 25 years. When you come to our office, you'll see pictures and hear stories about my wonderful children and grandchildren.
Brittany—Orthodontic Assistant & Texas Registered Dental Assistant
Seeing our patients smile when they see their new smile without braces makes me fall in love with my job all over again. My goal is to make our patients comfortable and help them enjoy having braces. My work here involves assisting in the clinic or at the front desk, as needed. I also make the in-office Essix retainers.I sing, dance, and laugh with all our patients to make the appointments go by fast. That's how my life is. I am happily married and have one son. If you see me out of the office, I will probably be shopping, camping, or just enjoying time with family and friends.
Amanda—Orthodontic Assistant & Texas Registered Dental Assistant
I enjoy working with our awesome patients! Watching their smile transform is so cool and seeing them so excited when they see their finished new smile for the first time is great. They are sometimes jumping up and down with happiness, and our whole team is right there, being happy with them. Dr. Burson is so good at caring for our patients! She has treated my entire family, so we all have fabulous smiles. My work duties include preparing a patient’s teeth for braces, performing routine adjustments, taking photographs and X-rays, and giving home instructions on the proper care of braces. I also sterilize our treatment areas and equipment, talk with the patient and their family about the progress that we are making, and answer any questions they have. I prepare needed supplies for transport to our satellite offices as well. As for my personal life, my husband and I have been married for 22 years and we have three beautiful children. My oldest son is an active, deployed Marine, and my younger kids keep us busy with their sports.
Belen—Scheduling Coordinator & Spanish Translator
I love meeting new people, so this job is a perfect fit for me. As the scheduling coordinator, my morning starts off with baking fresh cookies! My responsibilities include meeting and greeting all of our patients and scheduling their appointments. I love to make them feel comfortable and relaxed in our office. I am also fluent in Spanish, so I translate and help all of our Spanish speaking patients feel at home and welcomed. My favorite part of the job is getting to know our patients and seeing their Burson Smile unfold throughout treatment. It’s incredible to see a patient’s self-confidence grow as they feel more secure in how they look. Outside of work, I spend much of my time in school. I am a full-time student at Texas A&M and am working on my MBA. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and my puppy, Diego. Diego and I love to cruise around, run, or binge on Netflix.
